Weight- 275.5- I have been basically doing this program for a month. I weighed and have not lost very much weight AT ALL. Paul has told me not to worry about it because I have gained muscle. In turn, muscle is going to burn calories faster than fat will. This way, if I have more lean muscle mass then my resting metabolism will be higher. I think that is what he said- in other words, I will burn more calories just at rest. I weighed a few days ago down at St. Dominic’s Hospital and I was like still 280. Kind of demoralizing… I mean, I feel like I could have done nothing and stayed at 280.
moreMet some new folks today. Clark and Johnny. Apparently Clark has lost a lot of weight in the past year or so. Said that he has been through Paul’s class several times. Talked to them about Paul’s fitness class… Johnny said that he is having a lot of anxiety about it. I guess I am too… I just want to be able to do the drills. It is one thing for me to not be able to do something with just me and the guys that I am working with, but another to not be able to do something with a whole bunch of other people.
moreI thought I would share some (of what will hopefully become) “before” pictures with you out there…
moreWell, I have gotten to the third week. I think that the newness of this has worn off. Starting to get a little bored. Read the rest of this entry »

moreOMG!!!! VERY SORE!!!! Yesterday I had to pull the car over on the side of the road right outside of Batesville and just sit there for a while. I mean, it was not even really the soreness; it was more just generally feeling bad. I don’t know what was wrong. I just feel so bad. I feel week and am just hoping that I can get up and get going in the morning. Read the rest of this entry »
morePretty sore today, but I am thinking that some of this will work itself out. Paul had me running in the end of the workout… he said to get some of the soreness out of my legs.
The last thing that we did today was a military type crawl across the gym floor. My arms burned pretty bad on the wood floor. It was bad on my arm muscles too. I can not believe that I finished… all the way down the court. Bobby and Joe had to pick me up after Paul told them to. Very tired.
moreMet with Paul again this morning. We started out with some light running and ended up with some weight lifting. I think that I make more noise when I lift weights than the other guys do. There is this guy in the gym that Paul knows… he said that I was making small animal noises. Pretty funny.
As far as the weight lifting goes, it was very difficult. Paul defiantly wants to push me. He is pretty funny guy… Beth says that I have a non-sexual crush on Paul Lacoste. Possible. I have heard in the past that you kind of have to brake down the muscle so that it can come back stronger. I don’t know if that is true or not.
moreWell, Paul got me started today. Light work-out as far as I could tell. I will say this; he had me running some though. I have not run since high-school. Read the rest of this entry »
moreI cannot believe this is really happening; Robert is going to have the opportunity to really, really, follow up on his new year’s resolution to loose weight. How many people out there say they want to loose weight and then the People Magazine fairy comes down and drops a trainer and nutritionist in their lap? That just doesn’t happen. Sometimes I think Rob is the luckiest guy out there, and not just because I am his wife. What I most worry about is that he will get discouraged when he hits a plateau. I will have to tt/him about that. This is a nice distraction for me, so I am not obsessing over my pregnancy and every little discomfort or twinge of pain. After two lost pregnancies I have to admit I’m a little sensitive to every change in my body, mind, and emotions.
He is starting tomorrow with Paul Lacoste “Victor”. It is rumored that his trainer is a maniac and Rob is defiantly experiencing anxiety, and cant sleep any better than a child before Christmas. Rob is worried that he will not be able to do this and will look like a fool. I have tried to prepare him for the muscle pain he will have and that he must, must, must give it at least 3 weeks in order to get past the pain and start to feel any benefit.
