Weight- 227.0- Really and truly, a bit surprised that I have lost any weight. Really have not gotten a chance to work out that much. Working with the folks in the MS Makeover has been really good. Getting to know some more people. We have teams, not that it really means anything… we kind of line up according to ability.
I will say this; it has been nice to see some of them doing so well. Squires has lost a bunch already. Several others are doing well too. Clark is weighing them each week like we did in the spring… and we will keep doing that.
moreWeight- 233.0- Have just started the Mississippi Makeover. Basically, Paul has decided to do a class that is specifically geared toward weight loss. That is a departure from the past where he has been really about training people that are already physically fit. That is not to say that there are not some people in his classes that need to loose weight, but usually those that are overweight have a hard time and don’t continue on with his class.
For the MS Makeover, I am going to be a MENTOR. There are several of us that will be helping out with the training. I think that all of them have been overweight at one time or another. There is me, Bruce Almighty, Steve B, Steve G, Skinny E, Nascar, Glen, Jacob, Greg, Swarner, Cissy, – there are more. I am fighting with having the confidence to train others. I mean, what if they find out that I really don’t know what I am doing. I mean, it is really Paul and Clark that know this stuff.
moreWeight- 233.0- In case you have not heard… I am People Magazine boy as Paul loves to call me. I have been chosen to participate in the People Magazine Weight Loss Challenge for 2008. Eight people in the state of MS have been chosen to take part in the challenge. I am one of the eight.
I am 40 years old and live in Ridgeland. I have a small and expanding family. My beautiful wife Beth is due to have our second son in less than 30 days. Henry, the pride and joy of my life, is 2.5 years old and is very much anticipating the arrival of his baby SISTER. This is regardless of the number of times that we have told him that the ultrasound tells us otherwise.
I am a salesman for Ingram Equipment Company based in Birmingham AL. I am the Mississippi sales manager and go all over the state each day selling garbage trucks, street sweepers and other “waste equipment”. I have worked there for about 4 years.
I have lived in the Jackson area most of my life. I did move to Oxford in college (go rebs!) then New York City and Atlanta for a while after college.
I am sure that there are LOTS of people that might find all of this fascinating, but the main point that I want to convey with this blog and any other project that I might undertake is that I am a fairly REGULAR guy. I don’t have any degrees in fitness or nutrition or any of that stuff. As a matter of fact, up until very recently, I HATED to work out and I HATED to diet. I hope that I can tell you about this journey that I am on and how I am doing. I hope that I can inspire someone else to undertake the challenge. I think it might be worth it………… I don’t know, I think that the jury is still out. I will let you know.
Not much time tonight, as it is almost 9pm, and I have to get up at 4:20am to work out. I will come back and write more and maybe someone will visit and I would be happy to answer any questions.
moreI still spend most of the day tired, because George is eating every 3 hours. Robert is more tired than usual, because George is in our bedroom in his bassinette, and Rob still has to get up at 5AM every morning to workout. He has started to really enjoy running and is amazed that he can run 5K in a very reasonable time. Rob is one of those people who only last year would snicker at the bikers on the Natchez Trace and would shake his head at runners on Saturday morning. He used to turn to me and say these people have lost their mind. As much as he liked our old neighbor who ran in triathlons, he would shake his head in wonder why anyone would voluntarily do such a thing. Now, I crack up every time he tells me about his most recent improved 5K time, and he turns red and tells me to leave him alone.
