I tend to agree that as long as I am keeping something going down , the pounds should start falling off, eating snacks gives my fat old body something to burn. By the way Rob I have joined Weight Watchers and for once I can say I am really excited about this new way to eat thing... I have actually been cooking at home something I would rarely do . Its fun to try and find inventive ways of snacking , My favorite right now is Hummus and carrots sticks. Yum Yum

Good timing... One of my favorite musicians, Jon Foreman wrote an article that I read today about his garden. You might enjoy it. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jon-foreman/the-economy-of-the-garden_b_677770.html

I tried. I got the one-per-plant yield. But I'll try again next year in a new and improved bed!

Great plan. Our neighbor grows tomatoes, all varieties. Last fall the squirrels ate the remnants of season and dropped seeds all over my wife's flower garden. This season, we have a bumper crop of tomatoes, without ever trying. The little ones never make it inside, as I snack on them while watering.. Thanks for the inspiration...

I agree 100%! I no longer guilt my kids into eating all of their food. They do not need the same hang ups that I have had!

I like snacking, too! It helps keep me "leveled out" all day. Favorites: fruit, nuts, greek yogurt, teensy bits of chocolate.

Little known Cammy fact: I don't do the smaller plate thing (even though so many awesome people swear by it) because I have this *thing* about my unrelated foods touching. I don't want green bean juice mixing with my salad or bbq chicken.

I never said I wasn't weird. :)

And thanks, Rob, for your kind comments on my blog and on the AOL article. I am so blessed.

That first item is what does it for me. I make a batch of this or that and immediately portion it out into freezer containers. Except the serving I'm eating, of course. :) It's easier that way, plus on those nights when I don't have anything planned, I can just reach in the freezer for one of my containers.
