These are an example of my menus when I was losing weight in the People Magazine Weight Loss Challenge—-

Today’s menu:

Breakfast-

Bowl of Grape Nuts with Splenda and Skim Milk

Coffee with Splenda (I swear I could be the poster boy!!)

Lunch-

Grilled Chicken Sandwich from Wendy’s

Small bowl of chili

Diet Coke with Splenda

Dinner-

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich (whole wheat bread, reduced fat peanut butter and sugar-free jelly)

8oz Skim milk

Menu for yesterday:

Sorry- as busy as I have been, it has been very hard for me to get this on the site EVERY day… but I will keep trying.

Breakfast-

Bowl of Grape Nuts with Splenda and Skim Milk

Coffee with Splenda

Snack-

Lance Whole Wheat crackers with Peanut butter

Lunch-

Subway Turkey Sub- Off of the Jarrod menu

Lay’s baked chips

Minute Maid Lite Lemonade

Early Snack- Snickers with Almonds (O.K.- I know this was not great… but it is better than the regular snickers- about 230 calories vs. 290 for the regular)

Late Snack-

Lance Peanut Butter Crackers

Dinner-

Three pieces of baked chicken that Beth made

Green beans (about a cup and a half)

Mashed potatoes (probably two cups)

Late Night Snack-

Bag of Act II 97% Fat Free popcorn

Menu for Saturday

Breakfast-

Kashi Go Lean cereal and coffee with Splenda

Snack-

Nature Valley Granola Bar

Lunch-

Beth’s homemade chicken and rice soup (big ole bowl)

Snack-

Nature Valley granola bar

Dinner-

Two pieces of baked chicken

Whole messa corn and green beans

SORRY!!!! IT HAS BEEN A FEW DAYS… I HAVE BEEN OUT OF TOWN- OR OTHERWISE BUSY- OR I CAN THINK OF AT LEAST 5 OTHER EXCUSES- NONE ARE GOOD. I WILL TRY TO DO BETTER!!!!!

Menu for Wednesday

Bowl of Kashi Go Lean cereal (rocks!!!!) and coffee with splenda

Handful of grapes

Morning Snack-

Oat and Honey granola bar

Lunch-

Newk’s! Simply salad with Honey Mustard dressing

Splenda iced tea

Afternoon snack-

100 calorie bag of Strawberry Newton cookies

Dinner-

Two Hebrew National low fat hot dogs on whole wheat buns

Diet coke

I was kinda on the run and didn’t have time for much

Menu for Tuesday

Breakfast-

Grape Nuts with splenda and skim milk

coffee with Splenda

Lunch-

Appleby’s grilled chicken and portobello mushroom sandwich on wheat

Order of Fries

(Goodness I eat a lot of fries!!)

two sticks of fried mozzarella cheese (appetizer plate)

Dinner-

Bunch of Pineapple casserole, 4 pieces of roast beef, 10-15 shrimp, Mexican dip and chips (bunch of that), pasta salad, 5-8 stalks of asparagus, two lite beers and for the grand finale—– a big piece of chocolate cake

(Beth and I went to a birthday party and I kind of felt like it was my birthday- but not too too terrible. I ate too much, but that is why I ran three miles yesterday morning- so I can do this every once in a while)

Menu for Monday

Breakfast-

Two pieces of Whole Wheat toast with low-fat peanut butter drizzled with honey

Morning snack-

100 calorie bag of strawberry Newtons

Lunch-

Wendy’s grilled chicken sandwich

8oz fillet (beef)

Morning Snack-

Nature Valley Roasted Almond Granola Bar

Lunch-

Ham sandwich on whole wheat with lite mayo, mustard and piece of jalapeno cheddar cheese

Afternoon snack- Lance peanut butter crackers

Happy Hour- Two regular beers

Dinner-

Bison burger with piece of Jalapeno cheddar cheese, lite mayo and ketchup- all on a whole wheat bun

Lance crackers (with peanut butter) – I am really excited about these because I like these “Nabs” (if you live in the south)- most are pretty high in fat and calories, but these are like 180 calories- so not bad

Late afternoon snack-

Pack of Nabisco Strawberry Newtons (100 calorie pack)- THESE ROCK!!

Dinner-

Two BIG Tilapia fillets- Grilled

Tea with Splenda

Late night snack- (about 10pm)-

Two scoops of Blue Belle Lite Vanilla Ice Cream

Menu: from Thursday
Breakfast-

Grape Nuts with Splenda and Skim milk

O.J. and Coffee with Spenda

Mid-Morning Snack-

Wal-Mart brand Honey and Oat granola bar

Lunch-

Turkey sandwich on wheat (no cheese, no mayo) from Sweet Pepper’s Deli

Small bowl of potato salad (best I have ever had)

Tea with Splenda

Snack-  (about 4:00pm)

bag of baked Lays chips

Dinner-

Newk’s Caesar salad and glass of Splenda tea
