People Magazine!!!

Weight- 290.2- People Magazine has me listed at 281.0 but I know better. I have been selected to take part in the People Magazine Weight Loss Challenge for 2008. They have chosen 8 people from the state of Mississippi to take part in this challenge. It has come to my attention, and everyone else’s that Mississippi is the fattest state in the U.S.- that is, we have the highest rate of obesity of any other state. I have a meeting tomorrow with my personal trainer. I am going to meet at his office and I guess talk about what we will be doing. I also have a meeting with a dietitian at Baptist Hospital. She is going to help me work out a food plan.

Also told Paul about playing little league baseball with his brother Jace. I ended up going to high school with Jace, but did not really know him all that well in the later years. Jace was killed in an automobile accident a few years ago. He was on highway 25 and I think that the story is that he went to sleep at the wheel. He and Paul were really close, and I can tell that his death affected Paul greatly. He talked about the accident when I was in his office.

I have decided to do a kind of diary of this whole process, so maybe I can look back on it one day and laugh. Or read it to my kids. Of course, since I am doing it on my computer, I feel like Doogie Howser.
